Janet Edmond
Janet is a Director of the company which she founded with Richard Welbourn in 2005. With a background as a health professional and having achieved personal success with Bariatric surgery herself, Janet was instrumental in establishing the patient care pathway and the personal-contact ethos which form the basis of our company's service offering.
She has also been very active in advancing the acceptance of Bariatric surgery in the UK through her role as a founder trustee of the British Obesity Surgery Patient Association (BOSPA). She has participated in a number of NHS working groups and in the designation of Bariatric surgery centres in the UK. Her other major areas of interest are clinical research and patient outcomes. She has recently reduced her role in the management of the company to focus on the development of written and electronic materials to assist patients and healthcare providers to maximize the success of Bariatric surgery.
