Success Story Graham (lost over 7 stone)
I was a professional dieter for 25 years. You name it, I had tried it. Yes I lost weight well for a few weeks, but then….it all came back on again. Then the miracle I was hoping for! 20 months ago I saw an advert for Southwest Bariatric Surgery Group which shook me to the bone. They could help me!! I didn't think twice. I had consultations with some fabulous understanding people and sorry to say, at 23½ stone I fitted the criteria for surgery.
I chose to have a band fitted and the day it was, the book of my life opened a new chapter. With my dietitian’s advice I have learned to eat nutritious foods and cut the portions down. Bye-bye junk food. My weight has steadily dropped (now 16 stone - only 2 more stone to go now) and in its place I have more confidence, happiness and energy. I can now walk for miles rather than having to stop after a couple of hundred yards to get catch my breath. I have always loved stand up comedy but being able to make a move into it professionally has been the fulfillment of a dream – move over Tank Sherman, hello Slim Wit-Man!
